Abstract

Tourism is undergoing a profound transformation driven by AI, automation, and the IoT, which are redefining hotel management and the guest experience. The smart hotel is emerging as a digital ecosystem focused on personalization, efficiency, and sustainability. RAISA technologies reorganize front and back-office operations, increasing productivity and perceived quality. Automation does not replace humans but supports them, freeing up time for relational activities. Data and algorithms guide strategic decision-making and marketing, while sensors and predictive analytics optimize consumption and promote circular hospitality. Tourism 4.0 thus becomes a cultural shift, with ethical AI serving as a lever for competitiveness and resilience in the Italian system, strengthening its position in sustainable and smart tourism.
