Dinamiche territoriali e questione ambientale: il contributo dell’approccio territorialista

ITA:La crisi ambientale ci obbliga a mettere in discussione il nostro modo di pensare e di “stare” al mondo; essa rappresenta dunque l’occasione per un mutamento dei valori e delle strutture sociali al fine di conseguire stili di vita più ecologicamente e socialmente equilibrati. Per questo motivo, il saggio vuole essere un contributo allo studio della crisi ambientale nella prospettiva di un riesame critico delle logiche insediative alla base delle attuali interazioni tra società umana ed ambiente, allo scopo di favorirne quel ripensamento necessario per attuare strategie efficaci per pianificare uno sviluppo realmente sostenibile. Nella prima parte dell’articolo vengono messi a confronto i tre principali approcci alla sostenibilità: l’approccio funzionalista, l’approccio ambientalista, l’approccio territorialista. Il contributo innovativo di quest’ultimo approccio viene approfondito nella secondo parte, delineandone i principi teorici. Infine, nella terza ed ultima parte vengono esposte le linee guida per una pianificazione del territorio finalizzata a produrre benessere in forme durevoli.ENG:The environmental crisis makes us questioning our own way of thinking and living in this world, so from this perspective it represents an opportunity for a change of values and social structures in order to achieve more sustainable way of living from a ecological and social point of view. In that respect the purpose of the essay is to make a contribution to the study of the environmental crisis with the aim of reevaluating the logic that subtends today’s interaction between human society and its environment, in order to further that mandatory change of mind needed to enable the adoption of new and efficient strategies towards sustainable development. In the first part of the essay I compare the three main approaches to sustainable development: the functionalist approach, the environmental approach, the territorialist approach. The innovative contribution of the territorialist approach is further elaborate in the second part, where we look at the the theory behind its principle. Finally, in the third and last part, I outline the guidelines for an urban planning towards sustainable development.
