Expo Milano 2015: comunicazione e percezione turistica dei grandi eventi

Abstract

World exhibitions are great events, attracting tourists from around the world, leading to a substantial transformation of the socio-political-cultural in the destination country, strongly influencing also the journalistic communication. This paper aims to offer a further research starting point in the psychology of tourism, in particular in relation to the investigations in mega-events. In detail, we are going to analyse the discursive productions of the press in the period before, contemporary and after the Expo of Milan 2015. In addition, we are going to analyse the results relating to the administration of a questionnaire focused on the tourist perception of the event in the period before and after the event, in order to highlight the presence, or the absence, of statistically significant results.
