Il nudging nel turismo sostenibile: evidenze empiriche e applicazioni nelle destinazioni

Abstract

The growth of tourism generates significant environmental impacts, mainly related to transport emissions and resource consumption in accommodation and related sectors. Tourism, understood as a temporary suspension of everyday life, may reduce individuals’ perception of the environmental consequences of their actions. In this context, nudging, developed within behavioural economics by Thaler and Sunstein, represents a tool to encourage more sustainable tourist behaviour without restricting choices or changing economic incentives. This article reviews empirical studies on nudging in tourism, highlighting its applications, limitations, and destination-level implementations.
